KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is seeking a suspect or suspects in connection with the reckless discharge of a firearm that caused a two-vehicle accident Saturday night.
Officers were called to the 500 block of W Kalamazoo at around 7:40 p.m. on a report of shots fired, and discovered an accident involving two vehicles and one injury.
Interviews with those involved determined that one vehicle was avoiding being hit by gunfire, and struck the second vehicle while doing so.
A nearby business was also hit by gunfire, but no one was injured.
The victim in the accident was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses said that the gunfire came from a large black SUV.
