KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — State Representative-Elect Julie Rogers will be officially sworn in to office by Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II on December 3 at 9:15AM in the State Capitol in Lansing. Because of COVID, in person guests are limited to only immediate family.

Rogers will be the first woman to represent the 60th District since the Honorable Mary Brown retired in 1994.
Her swearing-in will be performed by Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II.
“I am humbled and honored to be elected to represent the 60th and look forward to getting to work for the people of Kalamazoo,” Commissioner Julie Rogers said in a written statement. “There are many tough issues to tackle, such as increasing access to health care, helping small businesses during COVID, criminal justice reform, and strengthening environmental protection.”
Rogers will officially take office January 1, 2021.
