KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Expect a lot of people to converge near the intersection of Drake and West Main in Kalamazoo Thursday. It’s the opening day for the new Chick-fil-A location and local police and city officials are expecting quite a crowd.
This is the second Chick-fil-A now open in the metro Kalamazoo area. The other one opened a couple years ago on South Westnedge near Milham Ave. in Portage. The new location’s drive-thru will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. All Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed on Sundays.
Due to indoor dining restrictions, the drive-thru will be the only option to customers for now, and it could cause some big back-ups, especially during the lunch and dinner hours, similar to when the location in Portage opened. The owners contacted Kalamazoo authorities to alert them of the opening as well as to request a police presence for it.
