BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek fire officials say a home in the 100 block of Spring Street sustained major smoke and water damage when a fire broke out early Saturday morning but the persons inside of the home managed to escape unharmed.
The fire in the two story residence owned by Adam and Sara Lewis was reported at 4:07 a.m..
There was heavy fire on the second story in the back of the structure when the first units arrived.
Due to the homeowners closing all of their bedroom doors, the fire was contained but not before it caused nearly $154,000 in damages.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
