PORTER TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County deputies are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a pick-up truck Monday, March 27 around 6:30 a.m. at US-12 and Robbins Lake Road in Porter Township.
Investigation showed that a 34-year-old male from Union was walking in the roadway when he was struck by the pick-up driven by a 66-year-old male from Battle Creek.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the crash, however, drugs appear to have been involved with the pedestrian.
Assisting on scene were Porter Township Fire Department and SEPSA ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation.
