BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Driving in the Battle Creek area is a real challenge these days with all of the road construction going on.
Besides the work in the area of I-94 and Capital Avenue and the ongoing project at the intersection of I-69 and I-94, officials with the City of Battle Creek say contractor crews from Balkema Excavating will begin the second phase of the new water main installation project on Wednesday as they work to pulverize a section of the eastbound lane of Beckley Road.
The eastbound lane of Beckley Road from Helmer Road South to Minges Road South will be closed to thru traffic until the pulverization of the road is complete.
No thru traffic will be allowed along this section of Beckley Road except for residents living along this stretch of road for access to and from their homes.
Drivers are urged to follow the detours as this section of Beckley Road is an active construction site.
Crews expect the work of installing the new water main along Beckley Road to be completed by mid-November.
