BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Battle Creek Fire Department is investigating after a structure fire caused more than $150,000-dollars worth of damage on Tuesday morning, August 15.
Crews were dispatched to 91 Vale Street around 6:10 a.m. where they discovered smoke coming from the rear of a single-story home.
Attack lines were deployed, a primary search was conducted, and a water supply was established. Rescue 4 and Engine 5 assisted the attack crews, and Rescue 6 assumed safety.
Authorities say no one was home at the time of the fire which took crews more than an hour to get under control.
The incident is currently under investigation by both the fire marshal and fire inspector.
