BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – One person is dead in what is being described as a suspicious house fire which happened early Saturday morning at 84 Magnolia Avenue in Battle Creek.
Battle Creek fire officials report crews were dispatched just after 1:00 a.m.. They found both floors of the two story home on fire when they arrived. They also had to deal with a live power line that was down in the front yard.
Once the fire was put out, crews found a person who was deceased in a second story bedroom.
The cause of death is being investigated by Battle Creek Police and the medical examiner.
Damage to the home was estimated at $175,000.
