KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Public Schools superintendent Darrin Slade had some bragging to do now that the school year has ended.
He told school trustees that they had several victories this year, including some very important ones in the classroom.
He said the school year also ended with a very important one in athletics.
They also honored the Kalamazoo Central mock trial team, which came in second in the state, and particularly Isabel Martinez Maldonado, who finished first in the court journalism competition.
Francis Bilancio is their head coach, and he says it’s a lot of hard work for team members.
Dr. Slade thanked the staff, the students, the parents and their community partners for making it a successful school year.
