LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is doing well in the latest poll from Target Insyght in her bid to become Michigan’s next governor.
In a hypothetical race between her, Congressman John James and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Benson leads with 42-percent support, followed by James with 30-percent and Duggan with 21-percent.
James has not entered the race for governor, but Benson and Duggan are both in, with the Detroit mayor running as an independent.
Benson leads in the primary ballot for the Democrats with 55-percent, with Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II and Attorney General Dana Nessel tied with 12-percent and Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson at three-percent.
