KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The National Weather Service is sending crews out around west Michigan to investigate several possible tornadoes that hit last night.
Tornado warnings were in place for several counties and a twister was seen on the ground in Allegan County north of Marshall.
Nearly 200,000 Consumers Energy customers lost power last night.
Twisting damage was also seen in Portage, similar to the damage from an EF-2 tornado last May.
Trees fell on multiple homes in west Michigan, and the Comerica Building in downtown Kalamazoo had paneling and insulation ripped from it.
