THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Three Rivers Beacon Health nurses have ratified a new contract.
The ratification follows months of contract talks and a picket in June. The deal is for three years and includes what the union says are “significant raises, improvements to nurses’ health insurance, and limits on nurses being forced to work extra hours.”
The pay for the registered nurses will increase an average of 12.6% over the next three years and puts the Three Rivers nurses near the top of the regional market.
The nurses are also receiving higher pay for mandated hours.
The Michigan Nurses Association says it is the first contract Beacon negotiated in the state since the system acquired four southwest Michigan Ascension facilities.
