ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO) -Consumers Energy is giving a heads-up to over 1,300 Allegan County residents that they will see their lights flicker early Thursday as crews replace equipment in a local substation.
The power interruption will take place at about 6:00 a.m. and last up to five minutes while crews replace equipment. Consumers Energy says it has to make the upgrade now to limit the potential for future power outages.
Customers will notice their lights flicker if they live in the general area east of 34th Street, west of 19th Street, south of 116th Avenue and north of 114th Avenue.
“We appreciate the patience and understanding of our customers, and are working to minimize the impact of our work tomorrow morning,” said Steve Herrygers, Consumers Energy’s senior executive director of high voltage distribution. “Consumers Energy is carrying out this upgrade to ensure our customers don’t lose power unexpectedly at some point in the near future.”
Customers should call Consumers Energy at (800)477-5050 if they have questions or concerns.
