PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The City of Portage will be showing off the of renovations at Lexington Green Park next week, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, October 10.
City officials say the 23-acre park has been transformed through a collaborative process with neighborhood residents to provide enhanced recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities.
The newly renovated park features walking loops and lamp-lighted trails, basketball and pickleball courts, a bike ramp course, a central restroom and pavilion, and a large playscape with swings, slides, ramps, and climbing structures designed for children of all ages and abilities.
The project was supported by a $500,000 Land and Water grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, matched by city funds to complete the improvements.
