KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A two vehicle accident Saturday afternoon sent one of the vehicles off the road and crashing into the front of the Kalamazoo County Administration Building.
The collision in the 200 block of West Kalamazoo Avenue happened around 2:50 p.m. as both vehicles were traveling westbound. The vehicle crashed through the front glass doors and struck the elevator wall on the interior of the building. The building was not occupied at the time and neither driver was seriously injured in the crash.
County officials say yhe building has been assessed and is structurally sound and safe to occupy.
The Administration Building will be open Monday. The Kalamazoo Avenue entrance will be temporarily closed, and visitors should use the South entrance. The elevator is currently out of service.
