BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek area man walked away unharmed after his car was struck in the rear by an Amtrack train Friday evening.
Calhoun County police say it happened around 8:39 p.m. when the driver, a 57-year-old male, was traveling northbound on McAllister and stopped at the railroad crossing as the gates went down.
He did not see the train coming when he attempted to drive around the gates and was struck in the rear portion of his vehicle.
The train and it’s passengers were delayed for one hour during the investigation, and no injuries were reported.
