The category was “It’s a Mirage” and the answer, of course, was Kalamazoo. Jennifer Quail, a wine tasting consultant from Dowagiac, buzzed in to give the correct answer.
Quail was an eight-time champion in December of 2019 who won nearly $230,000 during her run. She is the second-highest money-winning female contestant in the show’s history. The winning streak qualified her for the tournament which has been taking place during the past two weeks.
Following the clue about Kalamazoo in the Double Jeopardy round Wednesday night, Quail eventually won the game. She tallied $29,999 in the blowout victory. She now has a chance to win $250,000 if she takes the title in the Tournament of Champions.
The two-day championship event takes place on Jeopardy! which will air Thursday and Friday evening.
