Praised for her, quote, “boldness and entrepreneurial spirit” by the makers of Doritos, an Australian teenager who found a supposedly rare “puffy” chip in a regular bag of the popular snack is being rewarded with $20,000 by the company. This is after the 13-year-old took her chip to eBay where some people with more money than sense were willing to pay $100,000 for the abomination. You read that correctly. $100,000… for what is basically a 3D Dorito that accidently made its way in to a bag of regular Doritos. Aside from that being a LOT of money to spend on a stale chip, how does one display this prized possession in their home? In what company does this become bragging rights? Do they invite their dates to come in and see their collection of food oddities like some bizarre assemblage of “etchings”? Forget about who would spend $100,000 on this… what kind of person would be impressed by the person who spent $100,000? That’s not wow-factor. That’s a cry for help.
