PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The three finalists for the Portage City Manager position will be back for another round of interviews Thursday, and city officials are currently compiling questions for them.
The candidates are Peter Dame, the City Manager, City of Grosse Pointe; Patrick McGinnis, City Manager, City of Grand Haven; and Jade Smith, Municipal Services Manager, Canton Township.
Interviews will be approximately 60 minutes in length and will be held Thursday, May 5 beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Portage City Hall Council Chambers, 7900 South Westnedge Avenue.
The public is invited to submit questions for the candidates by 12 noon Wednesday, May 4 at portagemi.gov/FormCenter/CityClerk-6/Interview-Questions-121.

The City Council began its search for a new City Manager after the resignation of Joseph S. LaMargo in August 2021. LaMargo, who had been the City Manager in Portage since November 2019, returned to Illinois to be closer to family.
