PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – There were school board races on the ballot yesterday and there will be changes in the two of the biggest districts in Kalamazoo County.
The most dramatic switch may be in Portage, where a slate of candidates backing parental rights and opposing frank discussions about race and sexuality are in a good position to win two of three open seats.
Emily Crawford and Kimberly Larson hold big leads with some votes yet to be counted.
In Kalamazoo, it appears incumbent Jenny Hill and parent Karla Murphy won six year terms on the Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education.
