KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is still looking for the person who fired shots that caused a natural gas leak Sunday
At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers responded to the report of gunfire in the 2600 block of Heatherdowns Lane.
When arrived in the area and began canvasing for more information, they found multiple residences that appeared to have been struck by gunfire. One of the residence’s natural gas supply line was struck by a bullet, causing a significant gas leak.
Nearby residences were evacuated until Consumers Energy crews could stop the gas leak.
No injuries were reported. The investigation continues.
