KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Residents of a multi-family Kalamazoo home fire on Monday, March 6 managed to escape without injury, but are now homeless.
According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, the fire was first reported around 8:30 a.m. near Portage and Bryant Streets.
Although firefighters brought the flames under control in about an hour, the structure was deemed a complete loss. Authorities on scene say five residents were displaced among the three apartments in building.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
