HOWARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo man was among those injured in a two vehicle collision in Cass County’s Jefferson Township Saturday evening.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says around 7:20 p.m. a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Casandra Coleman of Chicago apparently pulled into the intersection of M-62 and Pine Lake Street and struck a vehicle driven by 60-year-old Craig Wimbley of Kalamazoo.
Coleman, Wimbley, and 33-year-old Tacarra Tswago of Ypsilanti, a passenger in Coleman’s vehicle, were transported to St. Joseph Medical Center for injuries related to the crash.
Earlier Saturday around 4:10 p.m. Cass County deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on M 40 south of Dutch Settlement Street in Newberg Township.
Their initial investigation showed 38-year-old Andrew Avara of South Bend, Indiana was traveling northbound on M 40 and attempting to make a left turn when 57-year-old Drew Davis of Vicksburg, who was also was traveling northbound attempted to pass on the left. Davis’s motorcycle struck Avara’s vehicle while attempting to pass.
Davis was transported to Three Rivers Health for his injuries.
