KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – State Representative Julie M. Rogers is kicking off her re-election bid Monday at a campaign event.
Rogers’ 41st House District includes most of the City of Kalamazoo, and parts of Kalamazoo Township, City of Portage, and Comstock Township. She was first elected to the House in 2020, succeeding Jon Hoadley.
This term she was appointed as the Health Policy Chair for the Michigan House of Representatives. In addition, she serves on the House: Military, Veterans and Homeland Security; Local Government; and Insurance and Financial Services committees.
In a press release Monday, Rogers said, “As a practicing physical therapist, serving our state as the Health Policy Chair has been a special honor
for me this term. I am proud of the bipartisan work we have done to prevent lead poisoning in our children as well as to strengthen protections for access to reproductive health care. Additionally, helping shepherd through a package of bills to codify major pieces of the Affordable Care Act will literally save lives should the federal ACA be rolled back.”
No other candidates have currently filed with the Michigan Secretary of State for the seat.
