KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A drug dealer who tried to ram his vehicles into police cars during his arrest was sentenced in Kalamazoo Monday.
MLive reports that 31-year-old Jeremie Ennis will serve 17 years in prison for the crimes which took place before and during his February 4, 2020 arrest. His prison time will be followed by five years of supervised release.
Ennis began an altercation with police officers and rammed two patrol cars before he was taken into custody.
In September, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and one count of carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug-trafficking crime. COVID-19-related court delays and a superseding indictment in June of last year delayed finalization of his plea until September.
