KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Growlers welcomed former Detroit Tigers catcher, third baseman, and outfielder Brandon Inge as their manager for the day yesterday.
He coached first base for the Growlers, who won the game 9-5 over the Battle Creek Battle Jacks.
Inge also spent plenty of time talking to fans and signing autographs at Homer Stryker Field. He played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball, with 12 of those for the Tigers and one each with the Oakland A’s and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Inge also played 100 games in 1999 for the West Michigan Whitecaps, and had a 12-game hitting streak in June of that year.
