LAWTON, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Former Lawton Community Schools employee Andria Rice-Keister has been charged with embezzlement over $50,000 but less than $100,000.
She was working as a bookkeeper and clerk in the administrative office.
The district and Lawton police submitted their investigation to the Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office last week on October 20th, and she was arraigned Friday.
Rice-Keister faces up to 15-years in prison if found guilty of the charge.
District officials say they found an employee had been stealing money from the schools and contacted police on September 22nd.
