TAIPEI, July 13 (Reuters) – TSMC, the world’s largest contract chipmaker, reported on Monday second-quarter revenue of 1.27 trillion Taiwan dollars ($39.63 billion), beating market expectations and rising 36% from a year earlier on surging interest in artificial intelligence applications.
An LSEG SmartEstimate, drawn from 20 analysts, had expected revenue in the April-to-June quarter of 1.264 trillion Taiwan dollars.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) is a major supplier to companies including Nvidia and Apple.
