KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement and Crime Reduction teams arrested 18-year-old Ezaraious Jones on August 12th after they saw him allegedly trying to conceal a gun in a backpack.
They spotted Jones around 3:15 p.m. in the area of North Westnedge Avenue and William Street and chased him from the 600 block of William Street to the 700 block of Mabel Street.
Officers secured the backpack and the gun as evidence and arrested Jones, who the CRT knew was not legally allowed to be able to carry a firearm.
He was arraigned Thursday on several weapons charges and for resisting and obstructing police.
Bond for Jones has been set at $100,000 cash or surety.
