KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Parking can be a problem for anyone, but it’s a particular concern for the homeless living in their vehicles, and a Kalamazoo agency focused on that challenge is hoping to find some solutions today.
Interim Kalamazoo County Administrator Terrell Cole says The Continuum of Care will be holding a listening session this afternoon to take input on the topic.
It’s one of those topics where it just makes sense to collaborate and organize a community solution.
One local resident, 54-year-old Tammy Christie, was found frozen to death in the back seat of her car on North Street early last year, and there have been calls for action ever since.
The listening session will be held at the United Way offices at 709 South Westnedge Avenue from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
