BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) Jack in The Box officially opened it’s doors in Battle Creek today, marking the fast foods giant’s highly anticipated return to Michigan following a 45-year absence.
Located off Interstate 94 at 2588 Capital Ave SW the new restaurant welcomed eager crowds starting at 6:00 a.m. to serve its iconic all-day breakfast, Jumbo Jack cheeseburgers, and famous two tacos.
Operated by franchisee Niraj Patel, the launch introduces a modern dining design with drive-thru, dine-in, and mobile ordering options to southwest Michigan while bringing 40 to 50 new jobs to the local Battle Creek community.
This grand opening represents the first step in a major Midwestern expansion strategy for the California-based chain, which has not operated in the Great Lakes State since the 1970s.
The Battle Creek site is the first of five planned West Michigan locations, with additional restaurants slated for Kalamazoo and Kent counties.
A second wave of development will soon target southeast Michigan, starting with a Metro Detroit location in Westland expected to open this September.
