BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek police arrested a 17-year-old early Friday morning for having a loaded and stolen handgun during a traffic stop near Dickman Road and Carl Avenue.
The teen was a passenger in a car that was being driven by a 20-year-old along with one other juvenile passenger.
The teen was arrested for having the gun during the 1 a.m. traffic stop for a moving violation.
Officers determined the teen was also arrested last month for possessing a separate stolen firearm.
The driver was ticketed for driving without a valid license and released from the scene, and the other passenger, a 15-year-old, was released to relatives.
No names have been released.
